Troop 19 of Spokane, Washington spent the first part of the year learning about orienteering. In January, former Army Infantry Officer Connor McKeegan brought his orienteering class to the Cathedral Auditorium for an intensive classroom session. In February and March, they met on a wooded rural property near Spokane to test their skills. The February meetup was a more basic course that allowed the troops to hone their skills in the field. In March, the course mirrored that used by the military for training. It was a great blessing to see the older troops picking up the skills quickly and helping the younger troops learn.
