The Troops of St George are a Catholic scouting organization for fathers and sons who want to grow in virtue by sharing experiences centered on the outdoors, academics, and service to God, family, and church. We welcome men and boys coming from a strong background in other scouting groups, and even prospective members who aren’t sure if they’re up for spending much of any time outside. Gun Safety Training
Date : 2020-10-24Venue : TBDI just wanted to give a quick update on the gun safety course that we’re looking to do along with the Epiphany troop. They’ve set at date of Saturday October 24th with a time yet to be determined for the “field day” portion of the course. The event has been added to the Troop calendar and will be updated as details are solidified. IMPORTANT PREREQUISITE: Your child MUST complete the 12-hour online hunters safety course beforehand. You can sign up for them here: https://www.huntercourse.com/usa/minnesota/. I think that this notice should give everyone enough lead time to complete that course prior to the field day.Even if your child has no interest in hunting at this time, I think that the lessons that come with a gun safety course are valuable. The field day additionally will give them an opportunity to learn how to not have an unwarranted fear of guns, but rather learn the responsibilities that come with handling a gun. and have respect for what a firearm can do.
