Troop 12 held its annual winter campout where the Cadets braved the Michigan cold and were challenged with building their own shelter with a tarp, rope, and natural materials found around them. In the Troop meetings leading up to the campout, the boys practiced knots and shelter building as well as winter clothing best practices and common winter first aid conditions. For those Cadets who braved the below freezing temps, enjoyed wild game dishes like black bear and venison stew as well as comfort food classics like chicken and dumplings. The group hiked and participated in archery throughout the campout. The weekend culminated with 20 Cadets and their dads attending Mass at our sponsoring parish, St. Joseph Erie, Michigan.
God Bless,
